Emily King Mormon Artist

Emily King is an artist whose work uniquely captures the human figure. She grew up in Salt Lake City and earned her Bachelor of Fine Art degree in painting and drawing from the University of Utah. Her paper cutouts feature “childlike moments, modern unique color stories, [and] the human form simplified yet incredibly descriptive at the same time.”[1] One of the themes that consistently recur in her paper cutouts is children and family. She typically works with handmade Japanese paper or letterpress patterned paper. She also paints plain air.

Since 2005, her work has been part of numerous exhibitions and shows. She received an honorable mention award at the Springville Museum of Art Spring Salon in 2014.

She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her husband, Joshua, and their three children live in Utah.
