Casey Poppinga is a retired professional football player. He played two years in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Seattle Seahawks, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Philadelphia Eagles. His last game was February 6, 2005, in Super Bowl XXXIX.

He was born on October 15, 1977, in Evanston, Wyoming. From an early age, he excelled in athletics. He participated in track and field and distance running. In high school, he was rated among the state’s top hurdlers and won a conference championship in 1996. He also had a passion for playing basketball.

In 1994, he played his first varsity football game and led the team in tackles and was named MVP. By his graduation in 1996, he was a two-time All-Conference selection, All-State, and honorable mention All-American.

After high school, he attended the University of Wyoming and lettered with the nationally ranked Cowboys. In 1999, he transferred to Utah State University where he was a three-year starter. He also earned an MBA.

In 2015, he was inducted into the Evanston High School Hall of Fame, along with his brothers Brady Poppinga and Kelly Poppinga.

Casey is married to his high school sweetheart, Britt Robinson, and they have four children.
