A. Lynn Scoresby is a professional child and family psychologist. He is a professor emeritus of family sciences at Brigham Young University. He is also the author of Bringing Up Moral Children in an Immoral World; Seasons of a Spiritual Life; Foundations for a Happier Marriage; In the Heart of a Child; Teaching Moral Development; The Marriage Dialogue; and The Real Power of Parenthood. He was a popular speaker at BYU Education Week.

He earned his PhD in counseling psychology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from BYU.

Scoresby is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Young Men general board.
