On October 2, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct a temple in Chiclayo, Peru.[1]

The Chiclayo Peru Temple will be the sixth temple in Peru. The country is home to approximately 630,000 Latter-day Saints spread throughout more than 775 congregations. Chiclayo is located in northern Peru, just a few miles inland from the Pacific coast. The first missionaries arrived in the country in 1956. More than 32 million people live in Peru.[2]

Location

The Chiclayo Peru Temple is currently in the planning stages. No location has been announced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
