President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Tulsa Oklahoma Temple at the October 2023 General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Tulsa Oklahoma Temple will be the state’s second temple. The Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple was dedicated in 2000 and rededicated in 2019. Oklahoma, situated in the Great Plains of the United States, is home to more than 51,000 Latter-day Saints in more than 90 congregations. The first meetinghouse in Oklahoma was constructed in 1892. Tulsa is in northeast Oklahoma and is the second-largest city in the state.[1]
