Being Set Apart is the final step to acquiring a church calling. It refers to the ordinance of having a church leader lay his hands upon the head of the member to pronounce a blessing of guidance and direction for the calling. The blessing comes from God through the power of the Holy Ghost. Being set apart occurs after one has accepted an invitation to serve, and after the members of the congregation have sustained him in his calling.
