Silvia Henriquez Allred is the first counselor of the general presidency of the Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church), called to the position in March of 2007. She was born on October 11, 1944, in San Salvador, El Salvador, to Carlos Florentino and Hilda Alvarenga Henriquez.
She was a missionary for the LDS Church in the Central America Mission of the Church in the early 1960s. She attended the University of Arizona, Brigham Young University, and the General Francisco Morazán Institute, where she studied mathematics and languages, and earned a teaching certificate. On September 7, 1966, she married Jeffry A. Allred in the Salt Lake Temple. Allred and her husband are the parents of eight children.
She served with her husband during his time as president of the Paraguay Asuncion Mission of the Church and during a separate time as president of the church's Missionary Training Center in the Dominican Republic. Allred and her husband were also public affairs missionaries in Madrid, Spain.
