8:The Mormon Proposition is a film created by disaffected gay Mormons laying full blame for the passage of Proposition 8 in California, mandating that marriage is defined as a legal relationship between a man and a woman. The film appeared as an entry in the Sundance Film Festival in Utah in 2010. It's acronym is 8:TMP.

The film makes many accusations against The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, all of them false and slanderous. To answer these accusations and establish the Church's stance on same-sex attraction and gay marriage, as well as to outline the Church's participation in the Proposition 8 campaign, three new websites have been created. Here are the links.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints makes the proclamation that the destruction of the family by any means, including infidelity, divorce, living together without the bonds of legal matrimony, sexual activity outside of the marriage covenant, and homosexual practices will bring upon people, societies, communities, and countries, the calamities foretold in the scriptures, especially the Book of Revelation. The Church will never cease crusading for moral behavior and the sanctity of marriage and the family, whether in the religious, community, or political arena, wherever it has the right to participate.
