Samuel, the Hebrew prophet of around 1100 B.C., is referred to once in the Book of Mormon by Jesus when speaking to the Nephites:- Verily I say unto you, yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have testified of me. (3 Nephi 20:24)
