Shauna Mooney Kawasaki is an author and illustrator, working primarily for an audience of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which she is a member.
She illustrated for the church-owned Friend Magazine for more than fifteen years and now does freelance work for the magazine. She is the author/illustrator for Activities for LDS Kids: Color by Number; Activities for LDS Kids: Dot to Dot (1 to 50); Activities for LDS Kids: Dot to Dot (1 to 30); Doodle Book for LDS Kids; Mazes for LDS Kids, Books 1 through 4; My Family Can Be Forever: Sharing Time Activities (with CD); Beyond Clip Art: Sunday Sampler II: Finding Peace.
Her Ghostly Frights for Halloween Nights was created for a general audience. She illustrated a number of Christmas books with author Sue Carabine, such as The Night Before Christmas in North Carolina, A Dog’s Night Before Christmas, A Night Before Christmas in Hawaii, and A Firefighter’s Night Before Christmas. She also illustrated Terrible, Terrible!: A Folktale Retold.
She illustrated The Big Book of Sacrament Activities: Senior Edition and The Big Book of Sacrament Time Activities: Junior Edition.
Kawasaki has textiles to her credit. She won the Director’s Award of the 2009 Springville Quilt Show for her wall quilt “Center Stage.”
She is married to Michael M. Kawasaki.
