Anne Marie Oborn Mormon Artist

Anne Marie Oborn is a plein air, impressionist painter, known especially for her Russian Impressionist oil paintings of landscapes, florals, and portraits.

She earned her Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Idaho State University. She was a scholarship student under Sergei Bongart. She also studied with Adrian van Schtelen of Utah State University and completed a month-long instruction with Igor Vadimavich Petrov at the Russian Academy of Art.

Her illustrations have appeared in magazines International Art Magazine, Ensign, Liahona, and books The Simple Secret to Better Painting, The Best of Portrait Painting, and The Best of Flower Painting. She illustrated His Gift by Richard Paul Evans, The Daffodil Principle by Geraldine Edwards]], and A Mother’s Love by the editors of Deseret Book.

Oborn is a founding member of the Inspirational Art Association and the Plein Air Painters of Utah. She is a signature member of Oil Painters of America.

Her work is represented by Hope Gallery and Williams Fine Art in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her work appears in the permanent collections of Brigham Young University Museum of Art and the Springville Museum of Art.
