Kent D. Watson was a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from April 2008 to October 2013. He served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy.

He was born on May 8, 1943, in Cedar City, Utah. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Brigham Young University. He was chief executive officer of an international accounting firm (Price Waterhouse, now PricewaterhouseCoopers).

He and his wife, Connie, are the parents of five children. They lived and served in Asia for twenty-two years. He served as a missionary in the Southern Far East Mission as a young man. He worked in China for eleven years and raised his children in Asia. He served twice as a mission president in Taiwan, first the Taiwan Taichung Mission from 1989 to 1992 and as interim president of the Taiwan Kaohsiung Mission in 2003. He has also been a bishop, elders quorum president, stake president’s counselor, Scoutmaster, branch president, district president, high councilor, Church-service missionary, and membership clerk.

In 2012, he was honored with the Global Leadership Award by the BYU-Hawaii student chapter of the BYU Management Society.
