Nathan Thatcher Mormon Composer

Nathan Thatcher is a composer, arranger, performer, and author. He has received commissions from numerous soloists and ensembles, including New York’s yMusic. His arrangements have been performed by the Kronos quartet and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus as well as Son Lux, Woodkid, Joshua Winstead, and Okkervil River.

Thatcher traveled to Spain to catalog, archive, and chronicle the prolific work of retired composer and musician, Francisco Estèvez. The result of his work is Paco, a memoir and musicological exposition. It is also a biography of Thatcher’s detailed journey.

Thatcher received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music composition from Brigham Young University and is pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Michigan. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
