After a long, successful run as original cast members on BYU-tv’s Studio C, Matt Meese, Jason Gray, Mallory Everton, Stacey Harkey, Natalie Madsen, Stephen Meek, Whitney Call, Jeremy Warner, James Perry, and Adam Berg launched JK! Studios, a famiiy-friendly comedy digital network.
One of the team’s ventures took them to NBC’s new reality comedy competition called “Bring the Funny.” Their two skits landed them into the semifinal rounds. Meese, Everton, Madsen, Harkey, Gray, and Warner performed.
JK! Studios has also released episodes of its original show, “Loving Lyfe” that can be viewed on its YouTube channel. The network also produces a sitcom, “Freelancers.” Cast members have taken on the business side and continue their behind-the-scenes responsibilities with their new venture.
Cast members acknowledge that there would be no JK! Studios if it weren’t for Studio C and BYUtv. Meese, one of the original creators, said that it was daunting to leave the security of Studio C, but it was time to make the leap of faith. Madsen said it was sort of like “leaving the nest.” The ensemble is excited to take on expanded roles on different platforms.
