Scott Duane Whiting is a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained on March 31, 2012. He had been serving as a member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy at the time of his call.

Whiting was born on April 1, 1961, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Having served as a full-time missionary to Japan, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Japanese from Brigham Young University. He also earned his juris doctorate degree from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific. During his career, he was the vice president and in-house counsel for Molokai Ranch and later became the president and CEO. He also worked for a real estate investment company in Hawaii.

He served on the Aloha Council Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America, the BYU–Hawaii School of Business Executive Advisory Board, and the Hawaii Reserves board. He previously served as a bishop, Young Men president, elders quorum president, high councilor, stake president, and Area Seventy.

He and his wife, Jeri, are the parents of five children.
