Donald L. Hallstrom mormon

Donald L. Hallstrom has been a General Authority for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since the year 2000. In 2009, he was called to the Presidency of the Seventy where he served until August 1, 2017. He was released on October 5, 2019, and designated emeritus status.

Hallstrom was born on July 27, 1949, and grew up in Hawaii. As a youth, he enjoyed sports, including surfing. He served a full-time mission to England from 1969 to 1971.

He studied economics at Brigham Young University and graduated with a B.S. degree. He owned and operated a real estate economics company. He has given exemplary service to the Church over the years, including tenure as a bishop, a regional representative, as an Area Seventy in Asia, and then in the First Quorum of the Seventy. He has also served on the executive board of the Aloha Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Hallstrom is married to Diane Clifton, a native of Taber, Alberta, Canada; they have four children.
