Charlene Anderson Newell is a composer of several songs and hymns of special interest to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She composed the music to “A Key Was Turned in Latter Days” (#310), which was included in the 1985 Hymns of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Her songs “Little Jesus,” “He Died That We Might Live Again,” “The Commandments,” and “Your Happy Birthday” are included in the Children’s Songbook. She also wrote the words and music to “Mary’s Lullaby”[1] and “Who Is My Sister.”[2]
She was born in 1938. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
