In the October 2021 General Conference, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct a temple in Vitória, Brazil. The Vitória Brazil Temple is the 14th announced temple for Brazil.[1]
Vitória is the capital of the state of Espírito Santo. It is located on a small island within a bay where several rivers meet the sea in southeast Brazil. The coastal community has two major ports.
There are nearly 1.5 million Latter-day Saints in Brazil in more than 2,100 congregations.[2]
Location
The Vitória Brazil Temple is currently in the planning stages. No location has been announced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
