Reagan Yamauchi was crowned Miss Idaho in June 2023. She also received the Bert Parks award (Miss Congeniality) as voted on by the other candidates, plus the overall talent, social influencers and Miss Idaho “4 Point” awards at the event. She will compete in the Miss America pageant in January 2024.

Yamauchi was crowned on June 17 and left the next morning to be a counselor at the at For the Strength of Youth conferences in Provo, Utah. She also was a counselor at FSY conferences at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and in San Antonio, Texas. She said she could do that every week for the rest of her life and be happy.

Reagan was born to Ryan and Tonya Yamauchi of Soda Springs, Idaho. She attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, where she played on the women’s basketball team for a year and prepared to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a missionary in the Hawaii Laie Mission.

After returning from her mission, she again played basketball for Snow College before graduating with an associate degree in science in May 2023.

Yamauchi’s platform was titled “Motivated2Move,” an encouragement to Idahoans to get up and move at least once every 30 minutes — not matter your age or situation. In the fitness portion of the competition, Yamauchi completed a routine and modeled “Rebel Athleticwear,” a major sponsor for the Miss America program. She played “Fantasie Impromptu,” by Frederic Chopin, on the piano for the talent portion.

She plans to attend BYU–Idaho and major in business with a minor in communications.
