Elder Arnulfo Valenzuela is a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained as a new member of the Presidency of the Seventy, effective August 1, 2024.
Elder Valenzuela received his calling as a general authority of the Church of Jesus Christ in April 2013. Until this call, he was serving in the Fourth Quorum of the Seventy in México.
He was born in Chihuahua, México, and is married to Silvia Pilar De Porras. They have three children.
Valenzuela has been employed by Durman Co. as the National Marketing Director and in the past, worked for Honeywell México. He has a bachelor’s degree in Administration from the University of Accounting and Administrative Studies in México City and a master’s degree in business administration degree from the American Institute of Business.
His church service ranges from having served a voluntary full-time missionary in Veracruz, México, to serving as a bishop (lay pastor of a congregation), and as a counselor to stake (similar to a diocese) presidents and mission presidents.
