Located inside a chapel, a pulpit is the stand where the speaker speaks from. The pulpit is a simple wood structure behind which the speaker can stand. A microphone is mounted at the front, and the center section slants towards the speaker, so he can have notes and scriptures before him. Most pulpits can be raised or lowered to accommodate the height of the speaker. The pulpit is located at the center front of the chapel. Behind the pulpit are seats for other speakers and the choir, and a piano and/or organ. To one side of the pulpit is a sacrament table where the sacramental emblems are prepared. To the other side is a seat for a Ward Clerk who takes notes of the meeting.
