Brendon Urie, lead singer of Panic at the Disco, was born April 12, 1987. He was raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, (sometimes casually called the Mormon Church) in Summerlin, Nevada (a small community in Las Vegas). Urie went to Palo Verde High School, where he met Brent Wilson. Wilson introduced him into his band, which consisted of Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and their friend Trevor. Brendon auditioned to be their guitarist, but upon hearing him sing, then-singer Ross decided that Brendon was best suited for vocals.

Following a fight with his parents, Urie moved out of his house and into a small apartment. He supported himself working at the local Smoothie Hut until Panic at the Disco was signed by Pete Wentz (bassist of Fall Out Boy) to his co-owned record label, Fueled By Ramen.

Urie is no longer a practicing member of the Church of Jesus Christ.
