Amy Williams Mormon Scholar

Amy L. Williams is a population geneticist and computer scientist. She is an assistant professor in the Biological Statistics and Computational Biology department at Cornell University. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Williams received two Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Utah. She earned a SM (scientiae magister) degree in 2005 in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She obtained her PhD in 2010 in Computer Science from MIT. She was a postdoctoral research associate at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, conducting work at Columbia University. She was also a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard Medical School.
