Bulah Thompson Woodruff

Bulah Thompson Woodruff came from Connecticut Puritan stock that arrived in the area as early as 1640. She was the only child of Lot and Anna Hart Thompson. She was born on April 22, 1782, in Farmington. She was raised a Congregationalist, the official religion of Connecticut, and she enjoyed a typical upbringing full of helping her mother with household tasks and attending school and church.

At age 19, she fell in love with Aphek Woodruff and they were married on November 25, 1801. She bore three sons in the short seven years she was married, the youngest was Wilford Woodruff who later became fourth president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She died of spotted fever on June 11, 1808. Wilford was only fifteen months old at the time of her death.
