Marianne Monson: Mormon Author
Marianne Monson is a children’s book author, a college instructor, and an editor. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in creative writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and a master’s in English pedagogy from Pacific University. She has worked as an editor and art director of children’s books. She teaches creative writing and English in Portland, Oregon. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her articles have appeared in the Ensign and Friend magazines.
Her book titles include stand-alone The Water Is Wide and the Enchanted Tunnels series: Pioneer Puzzle, Escape From Egypt, Journey to Jerusalem, and Wandering in the Wilderness. She used the names of her two children, Nathan and Aria, as the names of the main characters. With David Hohn she wrote Finding Fairies: Secrets for Attracting Little People from Around the World and with Michelle Roehm McCann the Girls Know Best and Boys Know It All series.
