Rebbie Groesbeck Brassfield Mormon Writer

Robbie Groesbeck Brassfield, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is the creator of the blog “Normons,” a forum for showing how normal Mormons are.

I just felt like I heard over and over that people were shocked and so confused, like, ‘You’re Mormon? But you’re normal!’ That was always the sentence I heard over and over. So then that became the joke, and I told people to call me the ‘Normon.’[1]

She collaborates with friends and has several contributors to the humorous blog. Her tagline is “Just a handful of Mormons trying to prove how freaking normal we are.” She clarifies, “We’re normal in the sense that we’re relatable.” She sees the blog as a way to share her testimony with people who may not otherwise want to learn about the Church. The blog includes a category “Mormonism 101” where they try to explain Mormonism in “normal terms.”

Brassfield is from Provo, Utah, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications from Brigham Young University. She lives in the Los Angeles area where she is a copywriter for an advertising company.
