Marilyn McMeen Brown has published short stories, poems, novels, and stage musicals. Her titles include:
Fiction: The Accidental Goodbye; Waking in Tombstone; The Rosefields of Zion; Fires of Jerusalem; House on the Sound; Statehood; The Wine-Dark Sea of Glass; and The Earthkeepers series.

She is also a hymnwriter and wrote the words to the hymn "Thy Servants Are Prepared" which is included in the 1985 Hymns of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She earned her bachelor’s, masters, and MFA degrees in history and creative writing. She and her husband, Bill, set up the Marilyn Brown Novel Award at Utah Valley University to encourage superior works of fiction.
