Darwin B. Christenson served as a General Authority and member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy from 2000 to 2005. He was serving as the Idaho Falls Temple recorder at the time of his call. He has served as president of the Brazil Sao Paulo North Mission (1981–1984), full time missionary in the Brazil Mission (1956–1959), high councilor, stake Young Men president, bishop, and stake presidency counselor (twice).

Christenson was born on August 11, 1935, in Firth, Idaho, and was reared in Blackfoot. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and business from Idaho State University and is a graduate of the Idaho National Guard’s Military Academy and the US Army Command and General Staff College. He was a Lt. Col. in the Idaho National Guard. He worked for the Idaho Tax Commission from 1963 to 1976 and in the tax division of the Church Finance Department from 1976 to 1989.

He and his wife, Sandra, are the parents of four children.
