Thane Jasperson Mormon Dancer

Thayne Jasperson is a dancer, actor, and singer, and an original cast member of the Broadway hip hop musical Hamilton. He previously starred in Broadway’s Newsies and Matilda and performed in West Side Story and Oz. Before he performed on Broadway, he danced in movies High School Musical, High School Musical 2, and The American Mall. He was among the top 12 finalists in the fourth season of television’s So You Think You Can Dance. Jasperson played Ren in Footloose at Tuacahn in St. George after the So You Think You Can Dance tour.

Jasperson was born on July 27, 1980, in Provo, Utah, and graduated from Springville High School. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Argentina.

He collaborated with The Oratory Laboratory, a New York-based speechwriting company, to share his life story and his witness of the Savior. Part of the challenges in his life involve Same-sex attraction.
