Craig A. Cardon

Craig Allen Cardon is a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy on March 31, 2012, and was designated emeritus status on October 6, 2018. He had been serving in the Second Quorum of the Seventy at the time of his call (2006–2012). While a young man, he served as a full-time missionary in the Italian Mission, and from 1983 to 1986, he served as president of the Italy Rome Mission. Because of his service in Italy, he discovered that his Cardon ancestors lived in the French-Italian Alps and were converted during the missionary service of Lorenzo Snow. He has also served as an Institute instructor, a Gospel Doctrine teacher, elders quorum president, bishop, stake president, and high councilor.

Cardon was born on December 30, 1948, in Mesa, Arizona. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, his MPA degree from John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard with a Methodological Area of Concentration in Leadership. He was named a Littauer Fellow. During his career, he was principally involved in real estate. He was an entrepreneur with several business interests.

He and his wife, Deborah, are the parents of eight children.
