Michael A. Dunn is a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sustained on April 3, 2021.

Dunn served as the managing director of BYU Broadcasting. He oversaw BYU’s radio, television, and digital channels, which includes BYUtv.

He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mass communications (journalism and advertising emphasis) from the University of Utah. After graduation, he worked as a freelance print journalist and then worked as a broadcast television reporter and producer. He has been a senior writer and producer for Bonneville Communications and general manager of KUED Channel 7.

He was general manager of KUED (PBS Utah). He also founded Dunn Communications, an advertising agency and film production company. He operated the company for 16 years.

Dunn has been awarded gold and silver medals from the New York Film Festival and has earned an Emmy Award for public service from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He was honored with the Advertising Professional of the Year Award in 2000 by the American Advertising Federation. He has won four CLIOs in the advertising industry, which are comparable to the Oscar.

He was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 18. He presided over the South Africa Johannesburg Mission from July 2014 to April 2017. He was asked to conclude his service early in order to take the position at BYU Broadcasting.

He and his wife, Linda, are the parents of three children.
