Hyrum Smith

Hyrum Smith was the brother of the Prophet Joseph Smith. During his lifetime, he was one of the Eight Witnesses of the Book of Mormon and a Patriarch of the Church. He was martyred with his brother Joseph in 1844 at Carthage Jail in Illinois. He was the father of Joseph F. Smith and grandfather of Joseph Fielding Smith, both of whom became prophets of the Church.
