David LeRoy Beck was called as the general Young Men's President of [[The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April, 2009. Elder Beck was born on April 12, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the age of ten, Beck moved to Brazil for three years, as his father, Wayne Beck, was called to be a mission president. Later, Elder Beck served in the Brazil North Central (later the Brazil São Paulo North) Mission.

Elder Beck holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in engineering administration, both from the University of Utah.
