Joaquin E. Costa
Joaquin E. Costa was serving as a member of the Fourth Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he was called as a General Authority Seventy. He was sustained at General Conference on April 2, 2016.
He has served in the Church in many callings, including bishop, counselor in a stake presidency, high councilor, and Area Seventy.
Costa was born on March 8, 1965, in Concordia, Entre Rios, Argentina. He was baptized in 1988 after beginning to date his wife, Renee, who had served as a missionary in Chile. They dated for a year before they were married in the Buenos Aires Argentina Temple. They are the parents of four children.
He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad de Buenos Aires and his MBA from Brigham Young University. He has worked in banking in his native Argentina, as well as Chicago, Illinois; the Czech Republic; the Sultanate of Oman; and Lima, Peru. He was working in Peru with a Danish investment firm at the time of his call as a General Authority.
