Steven Graves
Steven W. Graves is an instructor in medicine and is also a poet. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Graves earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah, and his M. Phil.(in chemistry) and Ph.D. (in bioinorganic chemistry) from Yale University. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Tufts University School of Medicine and a fellow in clinical chemistry at Washington University School of Medicine.
He was an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School from 1983 to 1991, assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School from 1991 to 1997, and an associate professor from 1997 to 2000. He is an adjunct associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Utah School of Medicine (2004–) and professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Brigham Young University (2007–).
His published poems include “Blackberries,” “Dido,” “Early Invitations,” “Hard Freight,” “snow,” “Storm at Dawn,” “The Cancellation,” “The Dunes at Truro,” and “The Room of Facing Mirrors.”
