Margaret Norris Cook Blanchard

Margaret Norris Cook Blanchard was a Latter-day Saint in the early days of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was present when the Relief Society was organized on March 17, 1842, in an upper room of Joseph Smith’s Red Brick Store in Nauvoo, Illinois.

Margaret was born on October 21, 1811, at Churchtown, Pennsylvania. She moved to Nauvoo, Illinois by 1842, and married John Reid Blanchard in 1844. They had four children.

Margaret’s family migrated to the Salt Lake Valley by 1854 and settled in Box Elder County in 1854. She then settled at Farmington, Utah Territory by 1860.

She died in Clarkston, Cache County, on June 12, 1874.
