Koichi Aoyagi

Koichi Aoyagi is an emeritus General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy from April 4, 2009, to October 3, 2015. Prior to that call, he had been serving in the Eighth Quorum of the Seventy in the Asia North Area.

Aoyagi was born on March 24, 1945, in Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan. He studied foreign trading for two years at Kanagawa University. He received his real estate license from the Japan Real Estate Academy. He then worked for the Church as a real estate and construction manager in the Asia North Area office in Tokyo. He also worked as a sales chief at Nippon Sangyo Trading Company. and senior sales manager at Young Living Japan Company.

He joined the Church in 1962 and has served in the Church as full-time missionary in the Northern Far East Mission, branch president, bishop, bishop’s counselor, stake president, mission president’s counselor, president of the Tokyo Japan Missionary Training Center, president of the Japan Sendai Mission, temple sealer, Regional Representative, and Area Seventy.

Aoyagi and his wife, Shiroko, are the parents of four children and live in Chiba-ken, Japan.
