Jessica Day George is an American author who writes primarily for teens and middle grade readers. She was born in Idaho but now lives in Utah with her husband and three children. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

George earned a BA degree in Humanities and Comparative Literature from Brigham Young University, a major she selected because it promised the opportunity to read a lot of books and to discover interesting backgrounds for the books she wanted to write. While at BYU she also studied German, Norwegian, and Old Norse. She graduated with a minor in Scandinavian Studies.

Wednesdays in the Tower (published by Bloomsbury) was number 10 on the New York Times Best Seller “Children’s Middle Grade” list in May 2013. Thursdays with the Crown released in September 2014. Her first book in the Castle Glower series, Tuesdays at the Castle, was released in 2011, followed by Wednesdays in the Tower (2013, a New York Times bestseller), Fridays with the Wizards (2015), and Saturdays at Sea (2017).

She is the author of the Dragon Slippers series (Dragon Slippers, Dragon Flight, Dragon Spear) and The Princesses of Westfalin series based on the tale of the "Twelve Dancing Princesses" (Princess of the Midnight Ball, Princess of Glass, Princess of the Silver Woods). She also wrote a stand-alone book, Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow, based on the Nordic legend “East of the Sun, West of the Moon.” Her Rose Legacy series includes The Rose Legacy, The Queen's Secret, and The Rider's Reign."
