Jack Lyon is a writer, editor, and publisher. He was a managing editor at Deseret Book Company for many years and wrote or compiled The Moroni Code; The Abraham Enigma; Best-Loved Stories of the LDS People; Best-Loved Humor of the LDS People; Poems That Lift the Soul: A Treasury of Faith and Inspiration; Inspirational Classics for Latter-day Saints; Best-Loved Christmas Stories of the LDS People; Managing the Obvious; Understanding Temple Symbols Through Scripture, History, and Art; The Ultimate Guide to GospeLink; The Readable Scriptures: The Book of Mormon; The Readable Scriptures: The New Testament; among many other titles. His edited volumes include The Collected Works of Hugh Nibley and The Papers of Joseph Smith. He is the owner of Waking Lion Press and Temple Hill Books.

He and his wife, Anne, are the parents of four children. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
