Jeff Dyer

Jeff Dyer is the Horace Beesley Professor of Strategy in the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University. He was assistant professor at Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania from 1993 to 1999. From 1984 to 1988 he was a consultant and manager with Bain & Company.

With Clayton Christensen and Hal Gregersen he wrote The Innovator’s DNA: Mastering the Five Skills of Disruptive Innovators. He is the only strategy scholar to have published at least five times in both Strategic Management Journal and Harvard Business Review. His research has been featured in publications such as Forbes, Economist, Fortune, BusinessWeek, and the Wall Street Journal.

Dyer was ranked as the fourth most cited management scholar from 1996 to 2006 and was recently ranked #1 on a list of most impactful management scholars in the world (based upon citations and Google searches) among those who received their Ph.D’s after 1991.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and his MBA from BYU. He holds a PhD in management from the University of California, Los Angeles.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife, Ronalee, are the parents of three children.
