Jenni James has modernized the Jane Austen novels into a series for young adults. Her titles include Pride & Popularity, Northanger Alibi, Emmalee, Persuaded, Sensible and Sensational, and Mansfield Ranch. She has also penned The Jenni James Faerie Tale Collection (including Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, The Frog Prince, The Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, The Princess and the Pea, Rumplestiltskin, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Hansel and Gretel, and The Twelve Dancing Princesses).

She and her family lived for a time in Portugal and England. They now live in the United States. James is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
