Laura McNeal: Mormon Author

Laura Rhoton McNeal is the author of the novels The Incident on the Bridge, Dark Water, and You Can’t Leave Me Now (compilation of short stories The Toothpicks: A Mexican Cartel in San Diego, The Last Meeting of the Dove Clu': A Pioneer Family’s Tragedy, and The Death of Judy Huscher). With her husband Tom, she wrote Zipped, Crooked, Crushed, and The Decoding of Lana Morris. They are the parents of two sons and live in San Diego, California.

Her short stories and essays have appeared in The Quarterly, The Georgia Review, The Threepenny Review, Sunset, and the San Diego Reader. Her historical novel The Practice House, will be published in 2017.

She earned her master’s in fiction writing from Syracuse University. She taught high school English in Utah and has substituted in California public schools. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
