Lewis B. Horne is the author of The Seventh Day (1982), What Do Ducks Do in Winter: And Other Western Stories (1993), and The House of James and Other Stories (2001). He has published in various journals such as Barrow Street, Canadian Fiction Magazine, Colorado Review, Fiddlehead, Greensboro Review, Other Voice, South Dakota Review, and Southern Review. His award-winning short fiction has appeared in Best American Short Stories and Prize Stories: The O. Henry Awards.

Horne was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. He received his PhD from the University of Michigan. He is a retired professor of English at the University of Saskatchewan, where he taught since 1971. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
