Liesl Shurtliff is the author of three reimagined fairy tales: Rump: The True Story of Rumpelstiltskin; Jack: The True Story of Jack & the Beanstalk; and Red: The True Story of Red Riding Hood. She has been nominated for numerous awards. She has written for The Friend magazine and for Mormon Times.
Shurtliff is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and lives in Chicago with her husband and three children. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in music, dance, and theater.
