W. Rolfe Kerr is an emeritus General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy on April 6, 1996, then sustained as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy on April 5, 1997. While a General Authority, he also served as commissioner of the Church Educational System from 2005 until he was released on August 1, 2008. He was granted emeritus status on October 6, 2007. Kerr then served as president of the Logan Utah Temple from 2008 to 2011. Previously he served on the Sunday School general board and as a bishop’s counselor, stake president, high councilor, missionary in the British Mission, and president of the Texas Dallas Mission. He also helped organize the Latter-day Saint Student Association.

Kerr was born on June 29, 1935, in Tremonton, Utah. Intending to farm, he earned his bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Utah State University. When he filled a position as coordinator of student activities at USU, he began a long career in education. He earned his master’s degree in marriage and family relations and his doctorate in education. He held administrative positions at USU, the University of Utah, Weber State College, and Dixie State College (in Utah), and Brigham Young University. He served as commissioner of the Utah System of Higher Education.

He and his wife, Janeil, are the parents of six children.
