In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church), a fireside is a church meeting that is not part of the ordinarily schedule meetings. Considered more of a special event, firesides are usually centered around one speaker speaking on a spiritually uplifting topic. Firesides are generally held in the evenings, with Sunday evening being the most common. The name originates from the early pioneers and the fireside gospel discussions that were held along the trail. Template:Stub
