Hoyt W. Brewster was a seminary and institute teacher and later a professor at Pepperdine University, Chapman College and finally Brigham Young University. He also served for a time as mamanger of curriculum planning and development for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From 1996-1999 he was president of the Netherlands Amsterdam Mission.

Brewster recieved his B.A. from the University of Utah, his M.A. from BYU and his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California.

Brewster is most noted for the many books he has authored. Among these are Behold I Come Quikly: The Last Days and Beyond; Moments that Matter; Martyrs of The Kingdom; Doctrine and Covenants Encyclopedia; A Time for Yourth and Prophets, Priesthood Keys and Succession.

Brother Brewster and his wife Judy are the parents of five children.
