The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormon Church abhors abuse of any kind, but especially of children. Much counsel is given to membership to combat this evil, and there is an effective program in place to prevent, discover, and combat abuse that may occur among the Church's lay clergy. (Members are called to serve in positions in the Church, while still engaged fully in their family lives and vocational pursuits. Nearly all "callings" are temporary.)
