Matt Osborne is a former US diplomat and intelligence officer who serves as vice president of Foreign Missions and Intelligence in Operation Underground Railroad (OUR).

Before joining OUR, he had a twelve-year career with the Central Intelligence Agency and US Department of State. As an intelligence officer, he tracked issues related to terrorism against the homeland and the political transition in Iraq. He provided analysis to US presidents, senior cabinet officials, and the National Security Council. In his role as a Foreign Service Officer and diplomat, Osborne served overseas tours in Madrid, Spain, Caracas, Venezuela, and Mexico, where he specialized in the fight against terrorism, illegal narcotics, organized crime, and human trafficking. During these overseas tours he organized official visits for President Obama, Vice President Biden, and then Secretary of State Rice.

Before his government career, Osborne worked in television broadcasting and later supported international schools in Luxembourg and Switzerland. He earned a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Miami University and a master’s degree in International Policy Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in California.

Osborne joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of his friendship in graduate school with Tim Ballard. He and his wife are the parents of two daughters.
