Sue Bergin: Mormon Writer

Sue Bergin is a writer and hospice chaplain. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and her master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. She also earned a master of fine arts in screenwriting from the University of California Los Angeles, and is a board-certified clinical chaplain through the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy.

Bergin has written for numerous publications, including the Ensign, the San Francisco Chronicle, The Wall Street Journal, and Psychology Today. She writes regularly for BYU Magazine. She has taught writing courses at BYU and the University of Utah. She is the author of Am I a Saint Yet? Healing the Pain of Perfectionism.

As a hospice chaplain, she supports dying men and women as they seek peace and meaning in their final moments of life. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
